We are delighted to welcome two new members to Brass Impact, Jim Cosker and Drew Baker.
Jim stepped into help us in late 2009 when we were let down by our keyboard player of that time, and he’s done a truly unbelievable job of getting up to speed with all the charts, fitting into the group really well. He’s brings a wealth of experience to BI and has transformed the sound of our rhythm section with his improvisation skills and ability to bring every piece to life.
Drew took up the drum seat right at the start of 2010, having been away from ‘the skins’ for over ten years, and had the unenviable task of learning the entire pad in just over 5 weeks, in time for our first gig at Hamishes Hoose on February 7th … he didn’t disappoint! Anyone who knows about playing in live groups will tell you that the drums are the ‘heart beat’ of the band, and Drew’s debut on drums (having played with BI before on sax) was nothing short of fantastic. Since then it’s just got better and better.
We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Drew and Jim to the BI family and we know that, together with the other very talented performers of the group, 2010 is going to be another fantastic year for us.
